Vermillion Lies

Vermillion Lies is a cabaret band from Oakland, California. The duo of Kim Boekbinder and Zoe Boekbinder, who are sisters in real life, formed the band in 2006. Apart from releasing their studio albums, the sisters also perform live and are known for their ability to make the audience clap, sing and dance to their tunes every single time.

Style

Vermillion Lies is not like other conventional bands. They are known for incorporating circus and folk elements into their music and gigs, and it is this fresh approach which has managed to give the sisters a very wide audience all around the world in a very small span of time.

Albums

Vermillion Lies has released two albums to date. One of them, "Separated by Birth," released in 2006, was released under the "A Small Tribe Records" Label. The other, "What's in the Box?" was released in 2008, and was self-released. In addition, they also have a couple of EPs to their credit.

Live performances

The band has performed in many places. Whether at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, far east in Moscow, Russia or in Europe in Braga, Portugal, Vermillion Lies has managed to charm audiences all around the world. Credit for this success and recognition has to go to their style of music and the creativity they incorporate in their gigs.

The last piece of music released by Vermillion Lies was in 2008. According to their website, the band has given way to the solo careers of the duo. However, one can surely hope that the band gets back together in the future to create some fun-filled and unconventional music for the world to dance to their tunes again.
