KOI Records Music Genres

KOI Records has several different genres that are enjoyed by many different people who refuse to listen to mainstream radio and bands. KOI Records was founded in 2005 by a husband-wife team for their love of old-school vinyl records. Recently, KOI Records has branched out into CD production. The different genres that the record company supports gives individuals a variety of music to listen to without getting bored or burned out on any particular musician or musical group.

Indie

Indie music is generally very light and "happy". The indie music field can feature several different types of instruments, although most bands play their own instruments. These bands are known as independent bands and generally do not get a very big jump onto a record label. Thanks to KOI Records, though, this genre has a chance to exist.

Punk

Punk is a little heavier and involves lyrics that depict different occurrences in life. The punk genre has existed for several decades; however, it has transformed a bit. Punk often is a mix between in-your-face screaming and a lyrical ballad. Punk bands may have singers that do not play an instrument, although there is no real ratio of differences.

Experimental metal

Metal is a genre beyond hard rock that tests the limits of what people can do. Many experimental metal artists scream and have an incredibly heavy sound, and many of them are willing to test new and different sounds.

These different genres often do not get a chance to shine until record labels such as KOI Records come along to discover the magic that these musicians create.
