The Sounds of Squarewell
Squarewell was an emo/hardcore band from Louisville, Kentucky. Founded in 2002, its songs include “Did We Have A Choice,” “Elementary,” “It’s Fall, But Nothing Has Changed,” “Pacing a Perimeter,” “Disappearing Act” and “Synthetic Sensations.” The band strove to create an original sound that captured the spirit of the Louisville music scene but still felt individual and authentic.
The band started touring in the eastern United States, gaining new fans with each performance and quickly selling out its self-titled EP. It toured with a number of other acts, such as Glasseater, Christiansen and Spitalfield.
Squarewell recorded its debut album, “Two Toy Model,” at the Nada Studios in New York in 2004. It featured eleven tracks that included “Elementary,” “Chapter and Fiction,” “Inanimate,” “A Recommended Memoir,” “Realizing What You Meant After All This Time,” “One Collective Body” and “A Heart Still Honored.” The band has since broken up but keeps its fans up-to-date on what individual members are doing on its website.
